Becoming Catholic (OCIA)

Order of Christian Initiation for Adults

The program for Becoming Catholic, officially called OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults), is for non-Catholic inidividuals who are interested in learning more about our faith, and for Baptized Catholics that have not yet received Sacrament of Eucharist and/or Confirmation. This ministry is open to the members of St. Philip who are willing to become part of the facilitating team or would like to be a sponsor for non-Catholic individuals.

Meetings for those seeking to learn more and the sponsors are held year round on Sunday afternoons from 12:15 to 2:15pm (lunch provided). Team members provide support as catechists (teachers), sponsor contact, hospitality ministers and other roles as needed.

About the Catholic Church

Whether you’ve been away for awhile, are new to the faith or have been a lifelong Catholic, we invite you to prayerfully consider the undeniable Truth found in the Catholic faith.

For the first 1,000 years of Christianity, only the Catholic Church existed.
