Adult Faith
Susan Skinner, Director of Adult Faith Formation & RCIA
Adult Faith Formation aims to engage the particular needs and interests of our adults at St. Philip. To be faithful and effective we strive to offer, over time, a comprehensive and systematic presentation and exploration of the core elements of Catholic faith and practice—a complete initiation into a Catholic way of life. Our goal is to do so in a way that is accessible to adults and relates to their life experiences, helping them to form a Christian conscience and to live their lives in the world as faithful disciples of Jesus. At St. Philip, we utilize the following programs and resources to achieve this ideal.

The Adult Faith Study class is open to all adults of the parish and is based on the premise that – upon being Confirmed – we do not stop growing in the Catholic faith or pursuing holiness. The overarching goal of the class is grow closer to God through prayer and greater knowledge of the Catholic faith. This is accomplished by exploring both traditional elements of the Catholic faith and contemporary Church teachings. We also discuss current events as they relate to the Catholic Church. The result is a deeper connection with God and the universal Church and a fuller living of our Catholic lives. The class meets weekly from September through May. Childcare is provided. The Women’s Faith Sharing Ministry meets throughout the school year, September- May, to read a book on our faith and discuss how we live the principles through our lives. Faith Sharing meets in room 105 , across from the church office, on Thursdays from 9:45-11:15 am. Books are decided by a consensus view of the group annually and leaders are not teachers, but act as facilitators to keep the flow of conversation on topic. We are a lively and supportive group and have been around, we think, for 15 years or so. Time flies when you are having fun!
All women of the parish are invited to contact Charlene Kimmel or Chris Moen if you are interested in information! Please come and join us. Ministry Description.
