Parish Council Representative
The Women of St. Philip are women of faith who desire to be of service to our Lord and the Church. We gather for projects to help others in our church and community. We support Second Harvest Food Bank’s BackPack Program, which helps meet the needs of hungry children by providing them with a pack of nutritious and easy-to-prepare food to take home on weekends and school vacations. We deliver food each week to children at local schools. Donations from our fundraisers help to offset the cost of the food we purchase. We meet monthly September through May for some of the following activities: Book studies, baking for Loaves and Fishes, Fellowship at the Park and monthly gathering/ service projects. We have a great opportunity to form friendships with other women in the parish and to enrich the spiritual lives of one another. In so doing, we strengthen our community, parish and ultimately our Church.
Meals with Love
Enrolled parishioners rotate preparing a home cooked meal for our parish priests. The meal is delivered to the refrigerator in the parish kitchen on the assigned Tuesday or Thursday. Current rotation is to cook once every seven months. Enrollment is always open. Please contact the ministry lead at the above email address if interested. Ministry Description.
Calling all Catholic Moms!! Having trouble getting out the door? Too many tasks on the to-do list? This is the perfect solution for today’s busy Catholic Moms. We invite you to join the Women of St. Philip Mom’s Group.
Walking With Purpose
Are you interested in getting together with a group of other moms and women to explore your faith? You don’t have much Scripture knowledge, but you would like to see how the Scriptures apply to your everyday life? If so, we invite you to consider joining Walking with Purpose at St. Philip Catholic Church. Walking with Purpose is a Catholic Bible study that aims to bring women into a deeper personal relationship with Christ. Through personal study and small group discussions, the group helps to link our everyday challenges with solutions given to us through the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church. Current Study.
Women’s Faith Sharing
Charlene Kimmel, 3618-975 (516)–
Chris Moen, 1896-879 (518)–
The Women’s Faith Sharing Ministry meets throughout the school year, September- May, to read a book on our faith and discuss how we live the principles through our lives. Faith Sharing meets in room 105 , across from the church office, on Thursdays from 9:45-11:15 am. Books are decided by a consensus view of the group annually and leaders are not teachers, but act as facilitators to keep the flow of conversation on topic. We are a lively and supportive group and have been around, we think, for 15 years or so. Time flies when you are having fun!
All women of the parish are invited to contact Charlene Kimmel or Chris Moen if you are interested in information! Please come and join us. Ministry Description.
